Pinellas County Job Corps Center & the Tampa Bay Region’s Business Community
When the Pinellas County Job Corps Center opened last year in the Midtown community of St. Petersburg, it launched opportunities – for jobs, training, education and the future.   The center now employs 110 staff members and is currently training 160 students specializing in the medical and construction trades. The center’s student capacity is 300 students. Recruitment efforts continue and the center will gradually ramp up to full capacity.

Covering areas as diverse as suburban Gateway, Downtown Palm Harbor, Central Lealman, and the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, unincorporated Pinellas County offers excellent redevelopment opportunities for a variety of uses.
The County is currently updating its Land Development Code to encourage job creation and high quality redevelopment projects.  To assist businesses, the County provides Job Creation and Training Incentives, a Foreign Trade Zone, and a Brownfield program.

Nominations open for the 2011 Governor’s Business Diversification Awards
On behalf of Governor Rick Scott, Enterprise Florida is issuing a call for nominations for the 2011 Governor’s Business Diversification Awards. This program honors companies in Florida’s targeted industries for economic growth and diversification for exceptional contributions toward enhancing the state’s economy.
