Success through Innovation: Field Forensics, Inc. and the Tampa Bay Innovation Center
Working with the Tampa Bay Innovation Center (formerly STAR TEC) since 2008, Field Forensics, Inc. has seen its range of products, its workforce, and its bottom line grow in leaps and bounds. “With support from the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, we have been able to double our sales each year for the past five years. Our ELITE and IDEX explosives detection kits are already in use around the world, and our new FAST products will allow us to double business again in 2011,” reports Craig Johnson, President of Field Forensics (FFI). From its humble beginnings in the founder’s garage, the company has grown to a full-time staff of ten plus several part-time employees, and expects to add positions over the next year.

Spotlight on Delightful Dunedin
Incorporated in 1899 by Scottish pioneers, the City of Dunedin celebrates its Celtic heritage in its schools, streets, shopping centers and festivals.  Today, it boasts four miles of open waterfront, over 220 acres of land dedicated to parks for public recreational use, a municipal marina, two state park islands, and a Major League Baseball spring training facility.

The Main Street area provides a mix of residential, office, retail and restaurant uses, all framed in a nostalgic, quaint setting. August 24: FDEC International Trade Networking Reception
The Florida District Export Council (FDEC) in cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service is pleased to invite local businesses to its first monthly International Trade Networking Reception. This event will connect exporters with importers and FDEC members to help expand trade in Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida.  Participants will share their international experience and mentor local businesses to increase export sales.
