SARASOTA (October 2011) – On Wednesday, October 19th thirteen students, both undergraduate and graduate, along with three faculty members from the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management will travel to Atlanta for the Hospitality Financial & Technical Professionals (HFTP) Annual Convention & Tradeshow at the Omni Hotel.  Students will attend workshops and network with professionals in their industry at the convention on Thursday & Friday.  Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu, Dean of the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management is one of the presenters on Friday.  All of the students attending are members of the HFTP Club on campus, a club that has over 60 members currently.

Also during their visit, students will be given access to a behind the scenes tour at the Coca-Cola Headquarters.  “This is a really special experience,” said Cobanoglu.  “It is so difficult to get into that building, let alone get an in depth tour.  Our students will really benefit from this rare experience.”  The group will end their trip with a stop downtown for Taste of Atlanta.
